Drivelaar ("Drivelaar," "we," "us," or "our") is a mobile and web-based application developed and operated by Laaref Technology. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information.
1 Information We Collect
a. Personal Information: Full name, email address, phone number, account login credentials
b. Driver & Compliance Data: License-related information, insurance and registration dates, traffic ticket tracking, DDC records, TLC-related compliance data
c. Device & Usage Data: IP address, device type, OS, app usage behavior, crash logs
d. Location Data (Optional): Collected only with permission for weather alerts, road conditions, safety features
e. Payment Data: Processed securely via third-party processors. We do not store full payment card details.
2 How We Use Information
- Providing core app functionality (alerts, reminders, compliance tracking)
- Improving app performance and user experience
- Sending notifications (deadlines, renewals, safety alerts)
- Customer support and communication
- Fraud prevention and security monitoring
- Legal compliance
We do not sell personal data.
3 DPPA Compliance (Critical)
Drivelaar complies with the Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA).
Key Commitments:
- We do not knowingly obtain or use DMV motor vehicle records without a lawful basis
- Any motor vehicle–related data is provided directly by users or accessed with explicit consent
No Unauthorized Use: We do NOT resell DMV data, use DMV data for marketing without consent, or disclose protected data unlawfully.
4 Information Sharing
We only share data with: Service Providers (hosting, notifications, analytics, payments), for Legal Compliance (law, subpoena, court order), in case of Business Transfers, or With User Consent.
5 Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable safeguards including encryption, secure servers, and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure.
6 Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary for service functionality, legal compliance, and dispute resolution.
7 User Rights

Children's Privacy: Not intended for users under 13.
Third-Party Services: We are not responsible for third-party platforms.
